Paris in July Hot, Hot, Hot

For my final Paris in July Saturday Snapshot I thought about my experience of Paris in July. I was in Paris in July in 2010 and it was HOT. It was hot walking around. It was hot in the Metro. It was hot trying to sleep. It was hot in the Louvre (airconditioned? Non).

Everyone was looking for a way to cool off
We hit Aquaboulevard for a day
The locals were looking for ways to keep cool too

They do love Diet Coke for some reason, and sparkly hats it seems

We ate Berthillon every day.

Different flavours every day!
My son learnt to read French on these boards

Ahhh, Berthillon. Best. Icecream. Ever.

Sometimes icecream was the destination.
Amorino is definitely worth a detour.
Magnums in France have an M and real dots of vanilla in the icecream
The thrill of travel for the young.

We ate sorbet in cafes.
Beaujolais! Chilled red wine- for lunch.
So fantastic, it's life changing.

We made use of the water sellers everywhere
We ate delicious raspberries pretty much every day.
Although I think they were Spanish.

We picnicked by the Seine
And enjoyed the fabulous atmosphere and entertainment

Evening walks were wonderful. The beautiful Parisian evening light.
Accidentally happening upon more beauty.

Next July I'll be in Paris again!
I can't wait.

Oh, I love that first pic best, I think.
I want to just lounge there forever.
Paris seems, to be, in any month, better than anywhere else, in any season.
Yet I've never been.

Lovely pictures - though I'm glad I've never been there when it's really hot. My favourite Berthillon ice-cream flavour is pain d'épices!

Lovely shots, hope you've had a great holiday! I've only been there once when I was younger with school but hope to go again, with the freedom to explore!

Our son loved to order his own ice cream when we lived in France. I see things have changed when we lived there - you would never have seen a Frenchman in tennis shoes then. That was a sure sign of an American. Thanks for sharing your great photos!

Ice cream, chilled red wine, I'd take the heat in return for those experiences. Congrats on returning to Paris in July. Then you can post some up-to-the-minute shots next July. Here's Mine

Even now when we talk about our trip to Paris, it's the ice cream that my daughter always brings up first. I have to prompt her about the Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory of Samothrace! lol!

Lovely photos - strangely I now have a hankering for a faceful of sorbet....

Can you believe we've been in Geneva for a year now and STILL NOT BEEN TO PARIS...? Talks are afoot to do just that in the October mid term break.

And yep, Diet Coke (or 'Coke Light') is huge in French-Suisse too.

What a lovely series, looks like a great visit even if it was very hot.
Actually, all those ice cream shots...I'll have to duck into the freezer and pull out some ice cream. :-)

You make my mouth water.

The framboise a la rose especially delights me.

I'm surprised they don't have air conditioning in the Louvre. Those many ice cream flavors look very yummy! I could see why that could become a destination of the day. :)
